New Welding Building Opens at Sampson Community College

News Description

April 1, 2020

Sampson Community College (SCC) recently opened the doors of a new state-of-the-art Welding Building, designed by JKF ARCHITECTURE!

The 8,745 SF facility includes a large fabrication lab, a flexible general purpose classroom located in close proximity to the lab, faculty offices, conference area, and restrooms. The fabrication lab has been designed with large rollup doors at multiple points of entry that opens directly to the exterior of the building to accommodate either large equipment or offer additional covered outdoor lab space when necessary.

This project supports Sampson County’s industrial recruitment efforts, as well as attempts to train local workers in specialized trades. The project was partly funded by USDA Rural Development Loans and EDA Grants, with Davis-Bacon Act administration led by JKF ARCHITECTURE. The building was completed on schedule and within budget.

JKF ARCHITECTURE appreciates the opportunity to deliver this project and we look forward to seeing the positive difference it makes in Sampson County!
