Boys & Girls Club of The Albemarle Renovation

Project Description

Working in conjunction with the Boys & Girl’s Club of The Albemarle, Chowan County Government selected Greenville-based JKF ARCHITECTURE for the repair and renovation of the old D.F. Walker High School in downtown Edenton, North Carolina. JKF ARCHITECTURE maintained a separate contract with Chowan County to spearhead the complete replacement of the roof, doors, and windows.

Following the sealing of the building’s envelope, JKF entered into contract with the Boy’s & Girl’s Club of The Albemarle to deliver a $1.2 million, 15,000 SF renovation to the existing facility. The space now includes an administrative office suite, multiple large classrooms, kitchen area adjoining a multi-purpose space, and new restrooms. The building has been brought up to full compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
