Pasquotank County Boardroom Complete!
News Description
JKF ARCHITECTURE recently completed the renovation of the area’s historic County Courthouse to accommodate a new, permanent meeting space for the Pasquotank County Board of Commissioners. The new commissioners’ boardroom is in the space that was previously occupied by the county’s Public Defender’s Office. Pasquotank County is governed by a seven-member Board of Commissioners. The space includes a new meeting dais for the commissioners, with additional seats for the county manager, county attorney, assistant county manager, and the county clerk. The boardroom comfortably accommodates up to 70 citizens to watch proceedings. The interior of the room is designed to mirror some of the traditional design elements associated with the Courthouse while introducing modern technology, cleaner finishes, and improved acoustics. A back-of-house vestibule and production space is located directly behind the Boardroom, equipped with the most modern technologies required to record and broadcast meetings. The Commissioners began meeting in the room in January 2024.
