North Carolina Department of Transportation Secretary Nick Tennyson joined the Currituck community on August 17th to open the Currituck Welcome Center, designed by JKF ARCHITECTURE.

“This beautiful new facility will be a welcome addition for ferry passengers and other Currituck County visitors,” said Secretary Tennyson. “Here, travelers will be able to take a break from their journeys while discovering a little bit about the unique history and geography of the area.”

The new $2 million facility will service the Currituck-Knotts Island ferry route. To this day, Knotts Island students use the ferry daily to get to and from school. JKF ARCHITECTURE’S Design Team appreciated the opportunity to work with the NC Department of Transportation on this successful project!
